Fun Friday v1.0: Image recognition with Google Vision Kit

Bas shows us the contents of the Google Vision Kit. Turns out, there are quite a few components in the Kit. The camera looks rather simple, but is capable of doing some cool stuff. At 7Lab, the camera is being put to use in the kitchen.

Recognising beer

There is a moment on Friday that the first beer is being opened. This signals the start of the Friday afternoon drinks. Arjan explains us how the camera in the kitchen is being programmed to recognise a beer bottle. This project is still in progress and not fully functional. Arjan’s plan is to hook the Google Vision Kit up to the alarm bells on his desk.
